This is a very nice service worn example of a Remington New Model Army Percussion Revolver, with a lovely patina from age and use. It apparently did have the barrel replaced at some point, so it is possible that the metalwork was refinished at some point, however it definitely happened long ago. possibly during the Civil War. The grips definitely look to be original, and look to have been cleaned and well cared for
