This is a great example of a Civil War Federal Issue Enlisted Mans Model 1839 Belt Buckle with a scarce Arrow Back. The buckle has very heavy wear and some strange paper residue on the back, so it could use a minor cleaning. The buckle has later wartime pattern brass "arrowhead" style attachment studs on the reverse. The plate measures measures approximately 3 3 8 x 2 1 8. The condition is good and was not excavated
